A Weekend in Massachusetts

Ish, the kids, and I road-tripped to Massachusetts this weekend to visit my family.  Since it was it was only a short trip, we decided to just hang out at my parents' house the majority of the time instead of racing to visit as many of our friends and family as possible.  The kids especially had fun playing with baby Treeline (sorry C but your blog alias has stuck).  We had a nice visit with my grandmother, and Lily particularly enjoyed pretending that she was Grama and Grama was Lily.

I had a lot of fun playing with my camera and working on shooting outside of automatic.  I mostly stuck to aperture priority mode as I am most definitely not comfortable shooting in manual yet.  I managed to get a very satisfying set of photos of my nephew (more than are displayed here), and several decent photos of my children.

Easter 2015

Happy Easter! A lot has been going on here since the last time I wrote, and I am sure I will write about some of it eventually. For today, however, I would like to share a few photos from an Easter photo shoot I did of the kids.  The It was rather windy, but I managed to get excellent lighting as the sun managed to be hiding behind cloud cover for almost the entire time.  It was a real treat not to shoot in full sun at midday.

Christmas 2014

The 2014 Christmas season was a pleasant combination of busyness and rest.  We enjoyed many gatherings with friends and family, but also managed to spend many lazy days at home loafing around in our pajamas.  I have come to really appreciate that my husband works in academia for the well timed vacations he gets through out the year.  The kids and I really enjoyed the extra time with him during the 2 week Christmas break (which mostly fell during Christmas this year). I would say more, but Atticus is waking up...

The Ketchup Series--Thanksgiving Road Trip

For Thanksgiving, we traveled up to Massachusetts to see my family. We left in the wee hours of morning so that we could both avoid a snowstorm and avoid driving during frequent nursing hours. The kids did incredibly well, and it was a fairly peaceful drive both ways. We had a pleasant Thanksgiving and the kids all really enjoyed getting to play with Baby Treeline (Sorry C but your blog name will be Treeline forever thanks to Little Ish). See that lovely cousins photo? It is a prime example of why I don't usually take posed group shots of children.
