Up until a few weeks ago, I had been using a point-and-shoot camera that I got as a gift from my mother when I graduated from high school [in 2003]. This camera has served me well, and I would continue to use it, but I wanted to move from a point-and-shoot to a DSLR. At the beginning of the month, I purchased a Canon Rebel XS, and I am in love. I have yet to take it out of auto-focus, but I will be working on that after I finish reading the manual. I will gladly take any recommendations for books/blogs/etc. on photography. Now a few updated photos of my munchkin...
Your child is so adorable! I love seeing the progression of images as he grows up. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same camera, and I, too, am in love! I taught myself by just taking a million pictures and tweaking the settings until I figured out what everything does. Not very efficient, but it's fun and very interesting!
Your boy is so wonderful. I miss him. And maybe you, too.
ReplyDeleteI almost never take my camera out of auto-focus. Amanda is right, it's a lot of playing and taking 5 million pictures. This site has tons of great basic how-tos you can search, as well as a blog that gets updated all the time. A lot of it is for way-advanced types and professionals with a lot more equipment than either of us, but the basics are comprehensible and helpful.
