It had been almost 4 months since Little Ish's last hair cut, and we had been making plans for a while to go have it cut at a local kids' hair salon.  It just kept not getting done.  During the time of unaccomplished haircuts, I calculated just how much it would be for 2 boys to get their haircuts for a year.  After picking my jaw up off the floor, I shared my calculations with Ish.  The next day he asked Little Ish if he would like a "Daddy haircut".  Little Ish agreed and is now the proud owner of much less hair.

Best Buddies

Liliana and Atticus are quickly becoming very good buddies.  She can make him go from screaming to smiling just by engaging him in conversation.  His smile is usually followed by Lily squealing with delight and proudly reporting "Mommy, Atticus smiled at me!" She has also taken on the role of a little mommy.  When she is the first to notice that he has spit up, she runs to get a cloth and then tenderly wipes his face.  Her role as a mommy has extended to her nursing her dolls, playing pack and unpack the pretend diaper bag, and occasionally getting caught on the changing table trying to undo the snaps on Atticus's clothes.

Lily's Photoshoot

A couple weeks ago, Lily brought me Atticus's orange blanket and asked me to lay it out on the floor--not an unusual request for her.  She proceeded to lay on said blanket and then directed me to lay Atticus on the blanket too--not totally odd, but somewhat suspect.  She then insisted that I retrieve my camera.  The entire photoshoot was established and directed by Lily.  I was just the mom behind the camera. 

Baptized

Atticus was baptized on February 23rd (which happens to be the feast of St. Polycarp).  Here we are with his godparents and Ish's and my godson. Welcome to the Church, sweet Atticus.

Dr. Little Ish

Little Ish, or should I say Dr. Ish,  was pretending to give everyone checkups on Monday night.  The conversation that ensued when it was Lily's turn gave me a good chuckle. 

Little Ish: Time for your vaccination shot.

Lily : No, don't vacuum me.
